PARR-TY Time - Page 1
March 23rd was an American coming out party for Australian Muay Thai sensation "John" Wayne Parr, whose hungry to become recognized as the world's best pound for pound fighter in his highly competitive sport. Barely two months after his North American debut, he took his power game to the homes of millions of Americans via live In Demand pay per view telecast and came up big once again by upstaging veteran Baxter Humby in less than three rounds on June lst at the Santa Ana Star Casino in Bernalillo, New Mexico.

"It was good to get out there again and get the TV exposure so the fans here can see what I'm all about," said Parr, whose March win over Rodtung "The Tank" Tor Tavakiet at the Stardust in Las Vegas raised eyebrows of Muay Thai fans and turned the 154 pound world rankings of the country's sanctioning bodies upside down. Scheduled to square off against another Thai legend in Chuangpuk Kiet Songrit during the pay per

view event promoted by Dennis Warner of In Sync Productions, the Aussie was thrown in against late replacement Humby when the Thai pulled out due to travel complications.

Humby has become a legend in his own right for competing in the grueling sport of Thai boxing with only one arm. The birth defect has not stopped the 29 year old from facing more than a handful of top rated fighters including Kit Cope and William Sryipai, nor did it stop him from frustrating Parr early in their matchup.

Humby's lateral ring movement made him elusive and a difficult target to track down for Parr in the opening three minute round. The California native outlanded Parr by a fair shot, keeping the Aussie at bay with a quick left jab. With an array of flashy kicks outside of his Muay Thai weaponry, he put on a graceful and flashy fighting display.
